Regarding paying extra for credit card purchases:
I imagine it costs them a little more than 3% for the credit card processing because it’s handled by a cell-phone somewhere inside the machine, but still, given their margins, they should be able to afford both.
As you observe, though, if people want it they’ll pay for it.
I went to the pharmacy this morning and paid 26 shekels for cream I knew I needed instead of 13 if I’d gone to the doctor and got a prescription. What does that say? Just that it’s sometimes worthwhile to pay the extra and save the time…
