Video: Want to fly past your competition? Be different!
Posted by: | CommentsI am a big advocate of doing things diferently. If you want to stand out, be different. This is both true when it comes to your personal brand and for your company.
When I’m flying I never watch the saftey presentation, I just don’t have the patience for it (you know, the ADHD thing) but what if it was done differently? Would I pay attention? You bet I would! Thanks to Esther Ohayon for tweeting this video. Enjoy!
Frustrated with how long it takes to delegate sometimes? Tired of meetings that go in circles to nowhere? Wondering how some people can walk into a conversation, divine what’s going on in minutes and effortlessly cut through to make the real, salient point?
Then you’ll want to watch this new – free – 35 minute video where I teach you advanced management skills that are literally like night vision for the savvy CEO.
Here are excerpts from the training:

The YikeBike: Someone should call them now and become the distributor here in Israel
Posted by: | CommentsWith the high cost of gas in Israel and the severe lack of parking, this product would be a hit in Israel and someone should contact them today and become the distributor here in Israel of this amazing electric bike.
What is the YikeBike? Below is from their website:
YikeBike is a statement about using smart technology to solve the problems of our increasingly congested, polluted, stressful cities. It is the first commercial expression of the mini-farthing concept, created up by a bunch of successful entrepreneurs, engineers and dreamers. We sat down to try and answer:
- What is the simplest way to get from A to B with the aid of a machine?
- What is the smallest wheel you can have to get a stable, safe, comfortable ride?
- Can you make something small enough to be able to go with you anywhere in a city?
- Wonder if we could make a unicycle dramatically easier to ride and fold?
We were intrigued by creating something that could dramatically change urban transport, enabling city dwellers a fast, safe and easy way to navigate their environment.
The result was the mini-farthing concept and its first expression, the YikeBike. It employs state-of-the-art technology, engineering and industrial design to create a new class of personal transport.
Watch this video below and then call the company and ask how you can distribute it here in Israel.
End of summer: Thoughts of an Entrepreneur
Posted by: | Comments
Well today is the first day back at school for the kids and the loooong summer is coming to an end.
Growing up summers meant “No more papers no more books, no more teachers dirty looks” and it meant going to Eagle Country Day Camp, Camp Raleigh, Magen Avraham, Achva and of course swimming, Carvel, softball in the park, riding our bikes, Bar-B-Q’s, Great Adventures and hanging out with friends during the long summer days.
No worries, less rules and ignoring the summer reading list. Summers were great!
Looking through Facebook today there were tens of comments on how quiet their homes are or Thank G-d the kids are back in school or similar sentiments. As parents I’m sure our summers are not the same as we had them growing up and we try our best to give our children what our parents gave us. (I think we have it a bit harder than our parents did though)
For business owners and Entrepreneurs there is no real summer break. Sure you can take a week off if you can afford to do so, but are you ever able to just get away and disconnect? Especially in the Start-up world, you can’t ever really walk away for more than a couple of days at a time.
I can’t remember the last time I took a real vacation. Business trips to Vegas is nice, but its still business. I have been thinking about it for awhile now how would it be to totally disconnect. No internet or emails, no cell phones no work at all. I think about it, but I don’t think at this point it is a reality for me. I am still catching up on Emails from Passover break! Thank G-d I’m blessed with an amazing team at work and things are going smooth, but I still can’t just walk away even though I know the business will be fine. I am addicted to information and addicted to my company. It is on my mind the vast majority of my day every day for the last 4 years. The really good thing is that I enjoy it. The real blessing is that I love every second of it. I love talking about my company and hearing every detail about it and I love the people I get to work with and l love getting emails about it.
It’s just that every now and then I like to think about those endless worry free long summer days…
I do think this video below speaks volumes about what I wrote about above. Thanks to Dani Waxman for sending this to me.
There is nothing to be ashamed about asking for help with your business or startup. In fact, it would be pretty foolish not to. As the founder or owner of a company it is not expected for you to know everything and if you assume you do, you can assume you will fail.
The true entrepreneur knows his strengths and limitations. Being an entrepreneur means being a leader and knowing how to succeed. Knowing that you need advisers as well as putting in the time to do proper research. One of the real secrets to success is in building your team, which is a lot easier said than done. It’s not just about getting a bunch of resumes and choosing people to perform tasks. You need to be able to guide them and not be afraid to hire those that are more knowledgable than you or more experienced than you. In fact, you should always hire people that are smarter than you are, you just need to be smart enough to lead.
Watch this video below, I give her points for not giving up, but she should have asked sooner.
