So I have been going back and fourth on this idea and I have not come to a conclusion yet. Hummus is the fruit of Israel and everyone and their Savta makes the best Hummus in the world. The only thing is that in most supermarkets you have 3-4 of the same brands all basically in the same price range and in the same plastic tubes. I'm wondering if this country is not yet ready for a Gourmet Hummus brand. Something that truly is more favorable with unique flavors. Perhaps even coming in some sort of fancy glass container. I would pay double the price for such a product, but perhaps not every day. But for Shabbat and special occasions I would and I would love to try out different flavors. Like Hummus with Pine Nuts and Orange grind. Yummy! So what do you think? Would this idea fly? Would people pay more for a gourmey version of Israels favorite spread?
